Sussex management consultancy Business Pulse raised more than £4,000 for the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity at a corporate networking event at Goodwood last week.
Nasser Elaheebocus, founder of Business Pulse, staged the special event in the glorious Sussex Roof Garden suite at Goodwood Racecourse. It was his first fundraising initiative since becoming a Business Ambassador for the Children’s Charity earlier this year.
Guests were treated to lunch on the day, as well as a performance of jazz songs by Susan Fleet and her pianist Michael Hinton. The afternoon included racing as well as a fundraising raffle.
Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex, John Nelson CBE began the day with some short introductory remarks. Ann Wenn then spoke about the difference the Charity makes to families across the country, including her own son Sebbie who attended the centre several years ago.
Pilar Cloud, Executive Manager of the Charity, said: “We were overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and support on this glorious day at Goodwood. It was an honour to have Ann and the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant, John Nelson, in attendance.
“So much has changed for this Charity over the past year or so. We would not have been able to relocate to our beautiful new home in Cuckfield without the incredible support of Nass and his Business Pulse Network. Thanks to them, we now support more than 40 families with access to free weekly hands-on early intervention sessions, music therapy and swimming sessions, as well as outreach support in their own homes.”
The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity supports children under 5 years of age who have cerebral palsy and other motor learning disabilities at its centre in Cuckfield, West Sussex.
Since the Charity was established in 2001, it has helped more than 500 families across the South East. It receives no statutory funding and relies entirely on the community to raise the money needed to continue providing its services.
