News: Crawley College Can Help

Posted on 25th April 2018

If you’re thinking of taking advantage of the new Mid Sussex District Microbusiness Grant to assist with employing an apprentice and are looking for support, Crawley College can help. Crawley College is one of the largest apprenticeship training providers in Sussex, with over 50 years’ experience delivering apprenticeships across a range of industries including Accounting, Procurement, Customer Service, Business Administration, IT and Cyber Security, Engineering, Construction, Warehousing, Hospitality, Hairdressing Early Years, Care and Dental Nursing.

Apprenticeships are the most effective way for businesses to train new talent. Designed by employers, they are tailored to meet the needs of each specific sector.  A mixture of on and off-the-job learning enables your apprentice to learn the skills that work best for your business.

If you need support with recruitment, we offer a Free Apprenticeship Recruitment service and our Recruitment team can work with you to help fill your apprenticeship vacancies, by providing access to a pool of work-ready candidates, some of whom are already part-qualified in your industry. We will advertise your vacancy, both locally and through the National Apprenticeship Service’s vacancy matching system.

Our dedicated team of Skills Advisers will support employers through the whole process, offering guidance on recruitment, training and accessing relevant funding to meet any costs involved. For further information or to arrange a meeting with a member of our Workforce and Business Development team, call 01293 442200 (Press 4) or email employers@crawley.ac.uk. For a full list of the Apprenticeships that we deliver visit https://www.crawley.ac.uk/apprenticeships/looking-for-an-apprentice

Testimonials

"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."

The Hon Nicholas Soames MP

"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."

Steve Mooney
(Steven Mooney Machinery)

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."

Wendy Agate, Community Fund Raising Manager
(St Peter & St James Hospice)

"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "
