IFA makes a splash at Swimarathon

Independent financial advisers, Mike Oliver Associates, have been announced as the main sponsors for this year’s Lions Club Swimarathon.

The Haywards Heath IFA, which recently celebrated its 16th anniversary, will lend its support to the event for the second year running, after the 2017 Swimarathon saw 57 teams swim 7,836 lengths to raise more than £19,000.

Now in its 35th year, the Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimarathon is an annual charity fundraising event held at the Dolphin Leisure Centre.

Teams of six can swim in a 55-minute-long relay, raising money for their chosen charity as well as the Lions’ selected good cause.

This year, the initiative will spotlight Time4Children, a small charity based in Haywards Heath which works with children between age 4 and 12 to improve their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Organisers said the sponsorship provided by Mike Oliver Associates will pay for hiring The Dolphin Leisure Centre swimming pool.

The sponsorship continues Mike Oliver’s impressive track record with sporting charity events, such as the Haywards Heath and Brighton2Paris bike rides.

“The Swimarathon is a fantastic event which brings together the Sussex community to support some really good causes,” said Mike Oliver, Principal of Mike Oliver Associates. “As an active sports participant, I’m keen to encourage others to take up a more physical lifestyle, which is not only good for health but also has impressive mental benefits.

“We are therefore delighted to support the event again this year, and I’m excited to see people come out in force on Good Friday – hopefully to beat last year’s incredible record!”

The Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimarathon takes place at the Dolphin Leisure Centre on Friday 30 March from 8AM.

Testimonials

"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."

The Hon Nicholas Soames MP

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"

Bruce Millington, Manager
(Sutton Winson Ltd)

"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "

Judi Arditi, Director
(Travail Employment Group)

"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."
