News: Open Air Shakespeare at BH Festival

Posted on 1st March 2018

Presenting an exciting opportunity to support one of the highlights of this year’s Burgess Hill Summer Festival – an open air performance of Shakespeare’s spellbinding masterpiece The Tempest, by acclaimed professional theatre company, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men.

Burgess Hill Summer Festival takes place from Saturday 2 – Sunday 10 June 2018.  The performance of The Tempest is the closing event of the 9-day Festival programme and will be held in the glorious grounds of Burgess Hill Girls school in Keymer Road. The gates will open early for the audience to bring picnics.  There’s no lovelier way to spend a summer’s evening!

The Festival is the town’s annual showcase for its many community groups and activities. Last year, 62 events took place during the 9-day Festival, with 35 local groups, individuals and businesses organising events. As well as showcasing what the town has to offer, the Festival also tries to provide opportunities for experiencing creative and performing arts, on a very slender budget. We would be very grateful for your support to bring this wonderful event to Burgess Hill.
