WHAT CAN HAMSVA POSSIBLY DO FOR MY BUSINESS?

In a word – lots. I believe there is huge potential for a win-win relationship between HAMSVA and the business community. So  how can the potential be untapped? It needs dialogue – HAMSVA building relationships with local business leaders can understand their needs better and use that understanding to identify good opportunities that are relevant and effective in meeting specific business needs. HAMSVA does not offer a generic service: its work is bespoke and accordingly needs to be fashioned by insight around particular needs. But what does HAMSVA offer in return from this dialogue? Three major benefits.

  • Staff development – HAMSVA can advise and access on a host of volunteering opportunities for staff among its membership covering a range of roles that can provide staff with valuable hands on experience.
  • Reputation – being seen to be involved with the local community through volunteer engagement enhances business reputation.
  • Insight – community involvement brings insight on community events, needs and priorities.

ACTION STATIONS
Employees from Cardinus Risk Management Solutions in East Grinstead, pictured, went to Yarburgh pre-school in the town to help with painting and gardening. One employee who attended the school, said: “We were asked to paint the main room and since we had some time left we painted and repaired the new sensory room, the stairwell, the walkway to the nursery and the garden out front. It was really nice to be able to give back to the pre-school so that their current groups can enjoy the facilities.”
