Twenty four members and friends turned up at PVL on Wednesday evening this week to enjoy the good company of other members and to hear about the fantastic success of the Preview Group. We were treated to home made cupcakes, which were delicious, and a healthy assortment of fruit juices while we listened and tried to absorb the details of what exactly goes on in this fantastic asset to the business parks of Burgess Hill.
We heard short presentations from Wes, from Adrian, from Therese and lastly from Will about the workings of the three companies involved on site. Preview provide the BHBPA newsletter system and work with many other companies on website design. Art D’Signs provide many kinds of signage for businesses and councils all over Sussex – indeed the signs at the business park entrances were designed and produced by Art D’Signs.
For many of the guests the real attraction was the incredible production line of wraps for emergency vehicles which is PVL UK. We saw at work the huge machines which do the marking, measuring and cutting of the luminous materials used to light up emergency vehicles all over the country. This company in Burgess Hill incredibly wraps over 50% of the emergency vehicles ( ‘the bluelight sector’) in the UK, dealing with thousands of emergency service vehicles every year. They have distributors in Belgium and Sweden, a presence in other Euro countries and now a direct sales office in the Middle East.
Founder and MD Nick Broom spotted possible demand for similar production on vehicles in the Middle East. For the past two years he has spent time in Abu Dhabi setting up an arm of the business in that part of the world. He was unable to join us for the evening on Wednesday because he was in Algeria on business.
As usual, the members were sociable and friendly, chatting away and absorbed by this peek inside another business. A great deal of networking went on as people mingled and exchanged details.
Our thanks go to the staff at PVL for hosting the event and for allowing us to get a glimpse of the excellent work they do here. Several members mentioned to me on the evening that they had used PVL for wrapping vans or that they would like to get a van wrapped, so there is still much business to be done locally.
"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "
"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
