The Burgess Hill Academy in association with Burgess Hill Business Parks were proud to present their Work Experience Student of the Year Award during their Post 16 Information Evening on 21st September.
Over 120 Year 10 students were placed in companies within Sussex and the surrounding area, some even travelled up to London. The winner gave an excellent presentation to the parents and honoured guests attending the Post 16 Information Evening on their work experience placement and the value it gave to their school life.
The winner was Lauren Wickens, who spent her week at Boots the Chemist in Brighton where she made the most of the opportunity afforded to her and gained valuable experience. The Academy are extremely grateful for the time that local businesses are able to give to help our students understand the working world.
""BHBPA is a really well organised and run group, great for networking and benefitting from knowledgeable local speakers with real business insight. Peter brings enthusiasm and humour which helps drive the association forward. I am glad to be part of it.""
"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "
"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."
"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."
