News: Your Invite to the CT Summer Ball

Posted on 16th May 2017

I am writing to you from Community Transport Sussex, who you may know as Bluebird Community Transport. Bluebird has now merged with two other local community transport operators to create Community Transport Sussex, providing long term financial sustainability to be able to help more people within our community.

I am sure you are aware of the work we do, but I will just remind you briefly. We cover Mid Sussex, Horsham District and Crawley to provide transport for those who struggle to access public transport due to age, sickness, disability or a lack of safe or adequate public transport in their area. Last year we completed over 110,000 passenger journeys, taking people to the shops, medical appointments, to see friends, attend a social club or even to school. Each of those 110,000 Journeys helps some of the most vulnerable people in our community to stay connected and stops them becoming socially isolated and unable to easily access services in their daily life.

We generate, income from fares, Special needs school contracts and attract some grant funding.

We are working to become truly sustainable as grant funding becomes harder to come by.

Our fundraising enables us to deliver our charitable aims and have a huge positive impact on people’s lives.

We are about to hold our first big fundraiser!

This is your invitation to our Big Event! We would like to invite all of the members of Burgess Hill Business Park.

Testimonials

"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "

Judi Arditi, Director
(Travail Employment Group)

"“I have belonged to this group since I started my own business, Lea Graham Associates, in 1986. The association has been through several incarnations since then, but its most recent one, BHBPA, is by far the best.

It’s much more than just a networking group, although it is supremely good at that too. BHBPA is inclusive and friendly and acts like a mutual-support society. The events are stimulating, worthwhile and often great fun and I believe most members share this opinion.”"

Susan Fleet, Managing Director
(Lea Graham Associates)

"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."

Wendy Agate, Community Fund Raising Manager
(St Peter & St James Hospice)

"The BHBPA is a fantastic hub for our business community to get together and catch up, discuss important local issues and connect new and interesting enterprises."
