News: Small Business Rates

Posted on 1st March 2017

This message is from Gordon Reay, the MSDC  Business Liaison Officer…

There has been a lot of coverage recently in the media about Business Rates. So this seems a good time to remind local small businesses of the availability of SBRR (Small Business Rate Relief) for those who occupy premises with a Rateable Value (RV) of up to £15000. Also to remind those who have not claimed that they can backdate their claim. This relief does have to be claimed – it is not applied automatically.

I have attached a document that provides details of Small Businesses Rates Relief for 2017 /18. Full details here

Testimonials

"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""

Peter Hook, Manager
(Computer Systems Engineers)

"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "

Angela Gill, Managing Director
(Bio Productions Ltd)

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"

Bruce Millington, Manager
(Sutton Winson Ltd)

"Since joining BHBPA we have found it to be a dynamic and vibrant members’ organisation, with excellent, regular and informative meetings.

Peter Liddell does a first class job in ensuring that members’ interests are aired and addressed.
