News: Girl Guide Needs Financial Support

Posted on 11th January 2017

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Rhea Burman and I am 14 years old. I am Patrol Leader for the 5th Burgess Hill Guides. Currently, I am a year 10 student studying at Warden Park Academy, Cuckfield.

Along with 9 other girls, I will going to Thailand in the summer of 2017 and will be representing Girlguiding in the London and South East England Region: LaSER. In Thailand, we will be completing a range of service projects, including volunteering in the local communities by helping them farm crops and working with children in schools as well as spending 3 weeks with The Traidhos Three-Generation Barge Project. You can read more about the project on their website:

http://barge.threegeneration.org/barge

Whilst in Thailand, the group and I will also spend time learning and experiencing the local culture of the country.

Therefore, I am asking for your support for this international service project to help less developed areas in Thailand.

The total cost, of the 3 week trip, is approximately £3000 per person. For this, I will raise myself by doing lots of fundraising activities like: coffee mornings, quiz nights, Thailand themed evenings, and a rainbow and brownie disco.

I would be extremely grateful if you would consider supporting the project by providing a small donation. Your money will go towards the cost of the trip including travel, accommodation, food and craft materials or books for the less fortunate children. Any help you could give me will be gratefully received and I / would be happy to feedback to you via a newsletter or presentation, upon my return, to show you how your donation was used.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions regarding this service project or if you need any further information.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours Faithfully,

Rhea Burman

"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."

Nick Broom, Managing Director
(PVL UK Ltd)

"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "

Steve Cridland, CEO

"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
