Posted on 10th January 2017

Welcome to the 2017 Inaugural BHBiz Awards

The BHBiz Awards is an exciting new event created by BHBPA to celebrate some of those local people and companies who work tirelessly to provide a service throughout the year.  In some cases they have done so for many years without special reward or recognition.  This is your chance to put that right!

These Awards are different from many you have entered or attended before in that they focus on what really makes an organisation tick – its people and its values, especially their contribution to the wider community in which they operate.

The BHBiz Awards Gala Dinner and Presentation Evening on Friday 5th May, 2017, in the Mayo Wynne Baxter Suite at The Amex Stadium in Brighton, is a chance to acknowledge and reward those businesses and staff who go the extra mile in making Mid Sussex a great place to live and work.

We warmly encourage you to get involved by:

  1. Submitting your nominations for the first BHBiz Awards
  2. Sponsoring one of the 10 Award categories
  3. Taking advantage of other sponsorship opportunities
  4. Buying a table of ten places for the Gala Dinner & Presentation Evening
  5. Buying individual tickets for the Gala Dinner & Presentation Evening

To nominate a company or person you think is deserving of an Award, please fill out the attached BHBiz Awards 2017 entry form and return it to  by Friday 10th March 2017.  Please note that nominations are limited to companies which are currently members of the BHBPA.

You can find a full list of categories for the Awards here.  There are 10 categories for which Awards will be made, eight of which will be judged from nominations received by a group of impartial and experienced business people from the local community.  The other two categories are special Awards, presented by the BHBPA Directors.

Sponsorship is available for each of the award categories. If you wish to sponsor a category, please email  as soon as possible.

Other sponsorships are also available through the same email address.

Tables of 10 are available for your staff, business colleagues and customers to attend the BHBiz Awards Gala Dinner & Presentation Evening at The Amex Stadium on Friday 5th May.  You can also buy individual tickets.  Prices are listed below.

"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "

Steve Cridland, CEO
(Burgess Hill Town Council)

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"

Bruce Millington, Manager
(Sutton Winson Ltd)

"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."

Steve Mooney
(Steven Mooney Machinery)

"The BHBPA is a fantastic hub for our business community to get together and catch up, discuss important local issues and connect new and interesting enterprises."
