News: On The Spot – The Autumn Statement

Posted on 23rd November 2016

Today’s statement has set the tone for this post-Brexit cash strapped government clamping down on tax leakages too large to ignore.

We noticed the usual claims of simplicity whilst at the same time introducing further complications in other areas.

For example, if you’re on the VAT Flat Rate Scheme I’ll be contacting you about new changes effective from this April 2017. The changes will mainly affect consultants.

The perceived abuse has encouraged the Government to introduce further complications to a scheme which started life making VAT simpler for the smallest businesses.

Testimonials

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"

Bruce Millington, Manager
(Sutton Winson Ltd)

"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""

Peter Hook, Manager
(Computer Systems Engineers)

"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "

Angela Gill, Managing Director
(Bio Productions Ltd)

""BHBPA is a really well organised and run group, great for networking and benefitting from knowledgeable local speakers with real business insight. Peter brings enthusiasm and humour which helps drive the association forward. I am glad to be part of it.""
