I expect you get inundated with requests concerning charities, but as today is the 2nd birthday of the little man whose story began the journey of his mother starting a charity in his honour, I feel moved to make this request.
On 4 November 2014 Gemma Kybert as told that her baby would be born not breathing. There is a documentary of her story on her website on the following link, please take the time to watch it: http://www.oscarswishfoundation.co.uk/
Gemma felt that her experience could not have happened for no reason so set up a not for profit organisation which has been awarded charitable status this week. Gemma was discharged from Brighton hospital with a leaflet on how to breastfeed, despite having no baby to take home. Oscar’s wish foundation was set up to support bereaved families. Their bereavement packs and love a bear packs for siblings have been adopted by both Brighton and Haywards Heath hospitals to support families who have experienced loss of their babies.
I attended one of your networking events that you held at Ridgeview vineyards, and the speaker there mentioned that they were looking for local charities to support. I made the introduction to
Oscars Wish Foundation and the company very kindly made a generous donation to them. I cannot thank them enough for listening to me and showing such support. Gemma is a local lady who is based in Buxted and comes from the Chailey area.
A huge part of the work that the charity does is to raise awareness that there is support for families who have to go through such a tragedy. If you could put something in your newsletter to help raise awareness I would be extremely grateful. If any companies can fund raise or make a donation of a gift for auction or raffle for their fundraising ball to be held at Buxted Park Hotel on 8th April 2017 that would be truly amazing.
If you would like to hear more about the charity please do contact Gemma who will be delighted to tell you more. Gemma’s email address is: email@example.com
Gemma also works full time (and more!) so may not always ne able to respond immediately to emails.
Thank you Peter for taking the time to read my email.
I hope to see you soon.
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"
"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."
"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "
