Aneela Rose Qualifies for British Powerlifting Championships! Our very own Aneela Rose took part in a British powerlifting qualifier last weekend and smashed her Personal Best in the Deadlift to qualify for the British Championships on 29th October in Manchester. Aneela lifted an incredible 105kg (16.5 stone) PB in the deadlift alongside squat and bench press securing a place at the British finals. Wish her luck! The AGM of the BHBPA was held this week at the King’s Centre in Victoria Road. Whilst there was no need for extra seating in the room it was a reasonable turnout of members to hear details of the past year’s affairs of the Association. I discovered this week that Jon Woodhead, a well known figure who has worked at Nova Direct Mail for many years, recently took on a demanding 100k walk across the South Downs to raise money for charity.  Along with his good friend, they set off on a very warm day somewhere near Petersfield at 9am, and arrived at Brighton Racecourse 28 hours later.  They were raising money for the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
