Update from Market Place Shopping Centre

Footfall for the month of June 2016 was UP Month on Month and Year on Year, this is great news!

We are pleased to announce that shoppers at Market Place raised £5,169 for the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance in a raffle to win a brand new convertible Mini Cooper.  Staff and volunteers for the life-saving charity sold tickets for the draw at Market Place Shopping Centre last month (May 23rd – 28th).  A grand total of £5,169.90 was raised in ticket sales and donations for the Win a Mini draw in aid of the air ambulance which relies almost entirely on public support.  Thank you for all who donated.

We also have received a letter from SERV, a local voluntary service who provide an urgent transport service at night for blood and infant milk in the Sussex region and came to Market Place on 25th June 2016 to collect donations for running costs and to raise awareness of SERV to the public.  SERV raised a grand total of £496 on the day of collection, which is enough to pay for the fuel for the Burgess Hill based bike for 6 months!  Thank you to all who donated.

Events in Market Place – July 2016

  • Saturday 23rd July – The Burgess Hill Community Foodbank will be accepting donations, towards the front of Waitrose for the day.
  • Thursday 28th July – There will be a Punch and Judy Show at 11am, hosted by the Town Centre Partnership.

Testimonials

"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."

The Hon Nicholas Soames MP

"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "

Angela Gill, Managing Director
(Bio Productions Ltd)

"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "

Steve Cridland, CEO
(Burgess Hill Town Council)

""BHBPA is a really well organised and run group, great for networking and benefitting from knowledgeable local speakers with real business insight. Peter brings enthusiasm and humour which helps drive the association forward. I am glad to be part of it.""
