I received this message below from Beacon Security Services just before Christmas, and then had a surprising update to report from Consort Frozen Foods on Wednesday this week, so please read on to get the second message.
Good evening Peter,
I’ve been given your details following a conversation on Twitter regarding the theft of pallets in Burgess Hill (it also extends to Manor Royal but I know you don’t cover that area).
On the patrol team we regularly see the chap but apart from ILG have had no contact with any business who may be affected.
The latest vehicle I’ve seen him in (05:06 this morning in Victoria Road) was a white Iveco style flat bed, index similar to (J)K10 BKE. He’s previously used MV08WWY a flat bed van red.
I’ve attached a photo of his business card for your info too.
I would like to work on stopping this with you and the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, so perhaps we can have a chat after Christmas on how we can all work together? Please could you also add my email address to any mailing lists you have – it would be useful to know what’s going on, particularly for the night patrol team, so that we can assist in the security of the business parks.
Best wishes and have a happy Christmas
Patrol and Response Supervisor, Operations Team
I was hoping you could put something in the newsletter to warn other companies.
This morning at 6.10am a white van drove onto our forecourt and stole some pallets.
This van has been seen in the area before and by what we could make out on the CCTV footage it is a White IVECO (35C11) flat bed van.
Can you please add this to your newsletter so everyone can know to be more vigilant.

"The BHBPA is the most effective and dynamic business organisation I have ever worked with in over 30 years in Local Government. It has a very active and large membership whose points of view are taken seriously by all government structures. Peter Liddell does an excellent job in providing unique and enjoyable networking opportunities where members interact and discuss points of mutual interest. It provides a forum for businesses to discuss common issues, to share experiences and to play a powerful and meaningful role in the Burgess Hill community. The BHBPA provides important and credible support for all its members and ensures that their best interests are represented where necessary. "
"“We have been members of BHBPA from its inception, and seen the organisation steadily grow and expand into the dynamic entity it is today, bringing positive benefits to all its members.""
"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"
"As the local hospice for the area, it’s great that we receive so much support from the BHBPA. Last year the members raised an amazing £2150 through activities such as Bake Off and the BHBiz Awards. Each well planned members meeting enables good networking opportunities and speakers that are relevant to the present climate and local issues. We are proud to be members of BHBPA."
