News: IEP Sarah Cycles Across Africa

Posted on 12th November 2015

Hove based IFA cycles across Africa in aid of Women v Cancer

A million miles away from the business world of Pensions, Auto Enrolment and Protection, one of our Senior Independent Financial Advisers Sarah Grinnell battled scorching sunshine, potentially deadly insects and a whole lot of chafing (!) as she cycled a whopping 350km as part of Women v Cancer Cycle Africa.

Starting in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Sarah negotiated tough Tanzanian terrain before finishing at the Ngorongoro Crater. She raised an astounding £4,845, massively exceeding her target. The money will go directly to three key cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

Women V Cancer Cycle Africa is a series of women-only cycle challenges which raises vital funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers. Organised and managed by Action for Charity, it conducts a vast number of fundraising challenges throughout the year.

Sarah says: “Women V Cancer was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, yet also the most rewarding. It was amazing to raise so much money for a cause I am personally very connected to. The effort from the entire team of cyclists was phenomenal and I am extremely proud of every woman who took part and have made friends for life. If anyone is ever thinking about embarking upon a Women V Cancer challenge I would say absolutely do it!”

IEP Financial are proud to have supported Sarah on this challenge and offer our warmest congratulations on such an amazing achievement. You can still donate to Sarah’s cause – just visit https://www.justgiving.com/Sarah-Hand

Testimonials

""BHBPA is a really well organised and run group, great for networking and benefitting from knowledgeable local speakers with real business insight. Peter brings enthusiasm and humour which helps drive the association forward. I am glad to be part of it.""

Dave Farmer, German Translator
(Dave Farmer & Co)

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"

Bruce Millington, Manager
(Sutton Winson Ltd)

"“I can’t speak highly enough of the BHBPA. As a small local business we feel very much part of a community and thoroughly enjoy the annual exhibition and meetings throughout the year. Over the years we have built fantastic working relationships with many BHBPA members and every meeting and event offers us opportunities to work with more. This is networking at its best! ” "

Judi Arditi, Director
(Travail Employment Group)

"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."
