There are various news updates to tell you about, so here goes :-
The Members meeting on 16th November at Ockenden Manor has 45 signed up for it, but there is room for more if you wish to come along. there will be presentations from Susan Fleet, of Lea Graham Associates and Carolyn Bentley of UKTI. Email me if you wish to come and haven’t already done so. It is always a terrific event at OM.
There is one change on the BHBPA Steering Group. After many years of sterling service, Steven Mooney has decided to step down and is replaced by Steve Willis of Steve Willis Training. Steve Mooney has represented the Sheddingdean members with great vigour since 2005, and we thank him for his great contribution to the BHBPA. He will no doubt continue to be a supporter of the Association.
The calendar of events for next year is a work in progress at present; if you have an idea about an event which your company might host, then do let me know about it. We are always pleased to go to new venues. I have already persuaded new member Mid Sussex Golf Club to host a meeting in 2016, and we look forward to that.
The new BHBPA website is almost ready to go live, but that means a lot of practice needed on my part to keep the thing rolling and up to date, as well as the new skills required to move copy onto it. That’s really why it has taken so long! Thanks to Wes at Preview for his patience, as ever!
We have booked space at the Oak Barn for a Christmas meal and disco on Wednesday 16th December. Limited numbers only, but please let me know asap if you wish to join us. There are some great people going; you will have a lovely time enjoying scintillating company!
"This association was started with a lot of effort from a few local businessmen and has proved to be a very powerful and useful tool for our business. The BHBPA has influence at the top level; when action is needed, the BHBPA gets it done. We are kept in touch with all that is happening on our doorstep and will often act because of what is published in the weekly emails / newsletters."
"If Carlsberg did networking they would do it the BHBPA way. Each event is packed with great ideas, thought provoking presentations and fun. As a small business we feel supported and part of the community. We have built friendships and business relationships and there is always plenty of advice on hand to benefit us all so don’t hesitate to join whatever the nature of your business. "
"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"
"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."
