School Visits
It's great to see that businesses are opening their doors to school parties and showing school groups around. This week there have been at least two school groups around, from Davison High School and from Tavistock and Summerhill Prep school.
As this reaction indicates, the children get a lot out of such visits:-
"Our visit was a great success! We visited Action Press, Filofax and Icon Live. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The pupils enjoyed asking questions to find out what sort of jobs the businesses provided and why they had decided to locate on the Business Park. They were also interested to find out where else the company had offices or factories. The pupils were absolutely delighted to receive a free Filofax! Action Press print our school calendars so it was interesting to see where they are produced. At Icon Live we saw where jewellery that we see in familiar shops is designed, and lots of lovely beads!
The pupils were really interested to find out about the business world and asked if I would take them back next week to visit some more!!"
Thanks to those businesses who showed us off so well to the employees of the future.
