Road Re-surfacing
The badly needed road re-surfacing around the Victoria Business Park is due to start today and will last until Sunday. if you didn't see the notice last Tuesday then please take note, especially of the limited parking space available.
I hope people are not too inconvenienced by the work. Here is the notice from WSCC...
Notification of Road Surfacing
Victoria Way, Victoria Gardens and Albert Drive, Burgess Hill
As a result of the severe winter weather the road surfaces of the above roads are now extensively potholed and in need of repair as a matter of urgency. We propose therefore to resurface these roads over 3 days from Friday through to Sunday this week (26th – 28th March). The work depends upon dry weather, so the dates could change if conditions are too severe.
About the works
The works will involve planing the existing carriageway and resurfacing with an asphalt layer, and will be followed by road markings.
Works to take place during the day
Pedestrian and vehicular access should not be affected. However movements may be temporarily restricted from time to time to allow for movement of plant and equipment.
Working hours
A parking ban will be put in place from 7am to 6pm over the 3 days. The surfacing contractor will work through to 5pm each day and will be followed by the lining contractor.
Who undertakes the work?
The work will be undertaken by West Sussex Highways, a partnership between West Sussex County Council, May Gurney, Amey and our supply chain partners. On this particular scheme the supply chain partners will be Aggregate Industries and Belstan.
Who can I contact about the works?
If you have any questions about the works, please call West Sussex Highways on 01243 642105. If they are unable to answer your enquiry, they will arrange for the supervisor to contact you.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding
during the road improvements.
