Parking Changes Imminent
As has been mentioned several times in this column during the last year, parking regulations are going to change on the Victoria Business Park, as the present situation is deemed by all and sundry to be unsatisfactory and dangerous.
Many of you have either written to me asking for tighter controls or mentioned parking as a big issue on your membership forms.
WSCC have looked at the traffic orders as they stand and have realised that basically there are very few restrictions at all, and that the traffic volume has increased to the point where some controls have to be applied.
The Traffic Engineer for this region was good enough to come to a Steering Group meeting back in June and outline his proposals. We were then able to discuss them with him and argue about what should be done on various parts of the business park. Interestingly, there was a clear consensus at that meeting that drastic measures were needed.
As a result, WSCC have come up with the following plan, which you can see on the attached image, for tackling the problem. Please get back to me with comments and suggestions, as clearly this will necessitate some changes in people's parking habits.
I have no details of the time constraints involved as yet.
