Exhibition Success
The long awaited exhibition took place last Friday, and since then I have been perusing the feedback give to me by exhibitors.
Of course there were things which we need to do better, and of course there were some aspects we would re-think, but in general it seems that the Martlets event last Friday was a resounding success.
First of all, many thanks to those who took part. I am aware that some companies took a stand simply to show support for the BHBPA, rather than because they thought it would benefit them enormously, and that fact does them great credit. I do hope that they found the day more useful than they had anticipated, and perhaps in other ways, such as getting to know their neighbours.
Thanks go also to the large number of companies who helped with the general putting together of the day by sponsoring or providing some useful service.
However the biggest vote of thanks should go to the five members of the BHBPA who were the organising committee. Without the unstinting efforts of David Carden (BHTC), Gill Lake (MSDC), Mike Davey (Art D'Signs), Mike Quibell (Quentin Press), Susan Fleet (Lea Graham) and Nick Broom/Paul Harvey (Preview) there would have been no exhibition.
It was a pleasure to have the local MP, Mr Soames, turn up to bring down the curtain with a rousing speech after presenting the draw prizes.
Perhaps the best feature of the day was the noticeable buzz of cameraderie and goodwill among both exhibitors and visitors, which made for a very positive atmosphere in the Hall. This is something which many have commented upon in feedback.
We shall see if it can be repeated and improved upon next year. This was a first, and I feel we can take a lot of positives from it.
