E-mpower.IT Support Girl Power on the Rugby Pitch!

Following on from becoming a sponsor of Burgess Hill Rugby Football Club in March 2017, Burgess Hill based e-mpower.IT who offer Managed IT Services and IT Support to growing businesses in the south east, thought it would be good idea to take part in one of the training sessions, not with the men but; the Ladies Rugby Team – also known as the Black Widows.

E-mpower.IT’s Marketing Manager, Jo Carver and the Owner/Director’s wife, Elaine Lokhandvala headed on down to Burgess Hill rugby pitch for the training session where they also bumped into regular attendee Tamara Roberts from Ridgeview. Full of anxiety and anticipation Elaine and Jo weren’t sure quite what to expect, but, none the less got stuck into the training which included mauls, pad work, ball work and finished with a quick game of tag rugby at the end. When asked “why they wanted to attend?” Jo Carver advised, “As a sponsor of BHRFC we wanted to show some ‘active support’, what better way to do this than participate in a rugby training session along with the boss’s wife! It was a chance to show our support as well as help promote the Black Widows.” She continued by saying “The training session was fun and gave us a flavor of what was involved. The girls are a friendly, social bunch and if you are looking for something different and fun to do which also helps you to get fit, then women’s rugby could be for you.” Meanwhile, owner/Director Jaffer Lokhandvala, sat sensibly at a distance; taking photos from the sidelines – to view them visit our blog

"Since joining BHBPA we have found it to be a dynamic and vibrant members’ organisation, with excellent, regular and informative meetings.

Peter Liddell does a first class job in ensuring that members’ interests are aired and addressed.

Mark O'Shea, Partner

"I am delighted to have a long-standing relationship with the BHBPA. Since its foundation the Association has gone from strength to strength and there is no doubt that it has brought huge benefits to its members and the business community as a whole through the partnerships it has formed with the local authorities, Sussex Police and local organisations. It is paramount that Burgess Hill businesses have an effective collective voice."

The Hon Nicholas Soames MP

"“Sutton Winson have been members of the BHBPA for around 7 years. We have found it a great way to keep in touch with Burgess Hill businesses and to meet with likeminded people. It’s not just another “networking” group, as it tackles the real issues and gets things done”"

Bruce Millington, Manager
(Sutton Winson Ltd)

"The BHBPA is an energetic and vocal organisation that connects and empowers and informs the local business community acting as an effective conduit to local authority and other organisations. We are proud to be part of that community and the association."
