Burgess Hill based Contract Manufacturer Time 24 have signed a contract worth £6 million to supply electronics and wiring on a new fleet of trains on London’s Crossrail project. This will bring the number of UK Rail carriages worked on by Time 24 to over 9000 in the past twenty years. The trains will enter sevice in 2017 and is part of a major programme of investment by the Government in the UK Rail Industry. Time 24 Managing Director (pictured) commented “ This is a particularly bouyant time for the UK rail Industry. There is expected to be a further investment of 3000 carriages on the London Underground Network and when the the order for the new HST2 Trains is placed the order for new rolling stock trains is expected to be in the region of £7.5 billion”. Time 24 is also seeing rapid growth in manufacturing for the UK Aircraft Simulator Industry “ both Boeing and Airbus have confirmed that by 2035 there is expected to be a requirement for 617,000 new pilots and these pilots are going to need training” added David. Time 24 are looking to recruit more skilled technicians at their Burgess Hill plant as well as investing in the skills development of youngsters.
